III-54  Rouge Valley Mennonite Church

Rouge Valley Mennonite Church began services and formally organized in 1986. The congregation resulted from the merger of the Cedar Grove Mennonite Church and the Steeles Ave. Mennonite Church -- both small congregations. For the first years the congregation used the facilities on the Cedar Grove property; in 1996 a new building was erected on the same property.

The congregation became part of the Mennonite Conference of Ontario and Quebec in 1986 and became part of the Menonite Conference of Eastern Canada following the merger of three conferences in Eastern Canada occurred in 1988. The congregation is part of the Mennonite Church, and in 1995 joined the Conference of Mennonites in Canada.

Pasters since 1986 have included Steve Drudge (1996-1993), Nancy Brubaker Bauman (Interim, 2003/2004), and Pieter Niemeyer (2001-, Lead minister, 2004-).

In 1995 there were 99 members.

Custodial history: Donations to the Mennonite Archives of Ontario have been made on an annual basis
