Facilities

Residence Rooms

Each side of your room comes with a desk/dresser/bookshelf unit, a bed, a wardrobe, a high speed internet connection, and a shared phone line. Washrooms are located nearby. Wash your laundry just down the stairs.


 

 

 

 

Skybunks (pictured at left) are not included in the room, but are passed on from year to year by students. You can also make your own freestanding skybunks or keep your bed on the floor. Bring any other furniture (such as couches and fridges) and decorations and make the room your own.
Approximate size of room is: 3.4 m 5.5 m

Grebel's rooms are the largest on the UW campus.

Dining Room

The bright Dining Room is open all the time. It's a great place to study in the evening.

Every Wednesday night is Community Supper, when students, faculty, and staff sit down together to enjoy an hour of visiting, eating homemade bread and delicious food, and to listen to a guest speaker or participate in a special event.

Kitchen

At Grebel, you get 21 all-you-can-eat meals a week. This includes a hot main course, a fully stocked salad bar, vegetarian options, a variety of drinks, delicious desserts, and the biggest cookies on campus. Grebel even gives you a chance to create your own menu as part of “favourite food day.” See what's on today's menu!

Chapel

Chapel services are held regularly throughout the year on Wednesday afternoons in Grebel's beautiful Chapel. Much of the planning and organizing of the services is done by students on the Chapel Committee, guided by our chaplain. More about the Chapel program.

 

 

Lounge

Enjoy the lounge with a TV, fridge, VCR, and DVD player on each floor. Sign up to watch your favourite shows or to reserve the DVD player for a movie night.

Games Room

Play foozeball, air hockey, and pool in the games room, or just hang out on the comfortable couches. Mailboxes for each student are also located in this area.

 

 

 

 

 

Study area

If you just can't study in your room, Grebel offers a quiet study room (known as "The Morgue") and a group study room. You can also use a drafting table and practice rooms with pianos.

Atrium 

Welcome to one of the best spots at Grebel. You will love the view from the Atrium, a large common area furnished with comfortable leather couches, containing a self-serve coffee bar and snack area. This place is great to visit, play games, or study.
